So, you’re looking to up your cool factor. Awesome!
One of the (many) intriguing things about being cool is that, like most aspects of personal style — how to be cool always offers room for more exploration. Maybe you feel you’ve already mastered the art of coolness. Or perhaps you’re just starting to figure out what cool means to you. Either way, there are likely strategies you haven’t tried yet. And, when it comes to experimenting with your personal style and attitude, there are definitely worse things to spend your time on.
Everyone wants to be cool. Cool people have better chances of being liked and appreciated in social situations. Uncool ones? With these, things are a little hard. This article is for you if you feel as though you need to do some work to become cooler and accepted. Check out these tips to help you get cool.
1. Pay attention to hygiene
Ask every cool person the one thing they pay attention to, and most of them will agree that they pay quite the attention to hygiene.
Everyone wants someone who looks and smells clean. The ones who don’t? Well, people stay away from them.
Your first step in being cool would be to pay attention to what you smell like and how your overall physical appearance looks. I will talk about this in detail soon.
Be sure to get the best cologne. Get a fragrance that sort of accentuates your personality. In this article, how to Choose the Right Perfume, we talk about how perfumes can do such a good job of showing a person’s personality.
If you’re a masculine man who wants to be treated like a masculine man, your best bet will be very dark scents.
2. Pay attention to your looks and style
Cool people are great with style. And looks.
Your looks can tell a person about your personality, and remember that it is your personality that makes you cool in the first place.
Work to look better.
Rework your facial features, your bodily features, and, of course, your gait.
You are probably asking how. It’s pretty easy. Make your facial features better by wearing the right expressions. There is a perfect expression for every mood.
Smile when you have to and hold your face firm when you have to.
As for your bodily features, it may be such a great idea to lose some fat. You don’t have to hit the gym or anything. It can begin with small things like cardiovascular fitness, like running around your house from time to time.
As for your gait, this is something you cannot overlook. You have to walk cool to be cool. There is a popular song with the words: “Walk it like I talk it.”
Yes, walk it. Be a cool champ.
Style your clothes perfectly, too. Pay attention to color, size, and aesthetics.
Everyone should have the right color for them. Guys who are masculine will do better with dull colors. Women who are feminine will look good in pink clothes.
Get some changes done.

3. Be confident
Every cool guy or girl is supposed to be confident. The truth it, confidence is really what makes a person cool.
Your confidence is expected to show in four facets of your life.
The first and most important is your expression.
In a room full of people, you can tell the cool ones apart from the uncool ones by just looking at their expressions.
People who are cool have more stable and more interesting expressions. They don’t fidget or switch from this face to that face. They’re stable. Be that guy whose expressions are stable and able to create a sense of ease in anyone who iswatching. Confident and cool guys have a thing for eye contact.
Learn to look everyone in the eyes when you speak to them.
The second, is your language and tone. Your tone is going to be shaky when you are anxious and not confident. When you’re cool and confident? It is, of course, going to be firm and friendly.
The third is your interaction. When you interact with people, show confidence by listening more and being someone people can come to.
That is to say, be likable.
4. Be likable. Don’t force yourself on anyone
If you’re going to be cool, you’re going to have to be likable. I don’t know a cool person who is not lovable. You’ll always hear someone say, “I think this person is so cool. It is so easy to like them.”
Make it very easy to like you.
This means keeping a positive aura and not speaking ill about yourself or others.
These are four important traits I see a lot in cool people:
- They’re not selfish: don’t be a sucker. Seriously, don’t be selfish. If you’re selfless enough, it is only a matter of time before people come to see you as someone who is loveable. Isn’t it weird that the cool guy in almost every high school movie out there is usually one who is open to saving people? The cool guy may be a jerk and all, but he or she is almost always ready to help. Be ready to help some more and you’d be cool.
- They don’t talk too much; they don’t. And if they do, they definitely don’t brag a lot. It is one thing to talk a lot, and it is another thing to brag. Bragging means one is trying to overcompensate. It means one is trying too hard to be someone they’re not. Cool people don’t try to be someone else.
- They listen: cool people listen. They do. They may be jerks but they listen. Try to listen to what people have to say to you more.
- They stun: yes, there will always be some kind of stunning. When a cool person walks into a room, everyone knows they are there.

5. Be mysterious
“What is it about that guy?” said almost everyone, referring to the cool guy or girl.
If you’re going to be cool, you’re going to be mysterious. You’re going to have to let people figure you out.
Don’t tell them everything they want to know all at once. Let them be drawn to you by the glimmer of your personality.
In a separate article, I will be showing you how to be more mysterious.
Summary
Cool people are loved by the crowd. They’re not socially awkward or selfish and have traits that make people desire to be them, or at least their friends.
