How to Take Your Interaction from a Dating Site to Real Life

by | Dating Tips

Jun 11, 2024

A lot of dating site conversations end on that dating site. The interested person never gets the chance to make the other person interested as well, and it ultimately ends in ghosting. Or, at worst, unmatching. It shouldn’t be this way, though. Dating sites should be a stepping stone to actual real-life dates. In this article, we show you how to take your interaction from a dating site to real life.

1. Remove all catfish hints

The thought that someone may be a catfish is one of the main reasons people stop talking on dating sites, so remove everything suggestive of a catfish accounts.

Junia tells us: “I have been catfished way too many times. It just makes me very interested in anyone whom I fear may be a catfish account. The interaction ends when I have that nudge.”

If you’re going to take your interaction to real life, you have to be able to convince them that you are not a catfish.

It starts with making sure your profile is complete. Incomplete profiles are often red flags. More than half of all catfish accounts are not completed profiles.

Verifying your account is also going to be very useful. Verified accounts stand out with check marks on most dating sites. They tell your matches that you are a real person, and this ultimately brings down their defenses.

Verifying accounts on most dating sites is easy.

2. Don’t Rush the First Interaction

You will never get the first interaction back. If you blow it, chances are high that you’ve blown away a potentially corporate match.

Don’t rush the first interaction

The first interaction on a dating site should be a self-discovering interaction.

You should interact about yourselves, find out things you love and things you don’t. It is best to begin the interaction with questions embedded in compliments.

For example, you can say: “Your bio made me laugh. Are you really that kind of person.”

They will respond to you, and a vibe will be born from there.

Remember not to text immediately after the match. Remember to allow a few minutes so you don’t appear to be spam.

3. Let conversations flow naturally

You should let the subsequent conversations flow in the direction of the best response.

On a dating site, you don’t just talk about anything. You talk about what your match wants to talk about. That’s the only way to get them to gravitate towards you.

Text in the direction of the best response. If they respond to you in an unwelcoming way one time, turn the conversation the other way and try to lead it to some other spot.

This will show them that you have excellent conversation skills. Conversation skills are important. People pay attention to them even though it may feel like they don’t.

Emma tells us that on a dating site, she is inclined to give men who converse perfectly her time of day.

“They pay attention,” she says. “They know where to lead the conversation and don’t push it farther than I want.”

4. Don’t bring up sex too early

On dating sites, you have to learn how to be subtle. Many people see subtlety as a bad thing. And though it can be a manipulative tactic in many ways, when used healthily, subtlety can be a sign of respect. It can be your way of saying: “You know what? I respect you enough not to have this in your face.”

That respect in itself is very attractive.

Even though you want to have sex with your match, don’t bring it up. Even as a joke. It should be talked about only if they bring it up because that alone indicates that they may be interested in you sexually.

5. The role of mystery

I had often wondered why mystery plays such an important role in attraction. Took me a while to figure it out. Mystery raises a number of questions in the mind of who you are trying to get.

As they try to figure you out, you end up staying on their mind for extended periods.

The more questions you raise, the more you stay on their mind. Eventually, they will come to feel very attracted to you and may even consider dating you.

Let them know you are interested. But let them come to find out how interesting you are, one layer at a time. You don’t have to tell them everything about you all at once.

6. Are they lonely? Fill up that vacuum

Many people on dating sites may be lonely. Chances are, they joined that site because they felt like they needed someone to complete them. Someone to be there for them. You can be that person. You can talk to them about just about anything and help dispel that feeling of loneliness. This is going to make them like you more and want to meet you.

7. Create sexual tension

Sexual tension is such a big motivator. Sexual tension can push a lot of people to try something out. Even going to see a new person. If you can get them to see you in a sexual way, they will want to meet you.

So, try your hands at sexual tension. Start subtly and then build up. Let it fill like pulling them into a web of sexual haven. Such that all they think about is having sex with you or laying in bed next to you.

8. Calls, video calls, and then ask to meet

Talk on video and on regular calls. This further shows him or her that you are a real person and encourages them to be open to you.

As they continue to open up, ask to meet them sometime. Depending on the level of trust, you can ask to meet them directly, or you can hide it in layers of subtlety.

Getting to meet a man or a woman off a dating site is way easier than you think. You just have to be open to giving it time. That trust takes time.
