5 Best Cleaning Hacks for Busy Parents

by | Ideas

Nov 8, 2022

Cleaning can be quite difficult if you are a busy parent. But the truth remains that it sure can be easier if you take a different approach to cleaning. In this article, we give you the five best cleaning hacks for busy parents.

There are many cleaning hacks to take advantage of as a parent — here are the best ones for busy parents, no matter what type of house you’re living in.

The BEST Cleaning Tips for Busy parents

1. Use equipment

Busy parents have a hard time doing all the work manually, and it really is no wonder why. Tidying is tough work, and this is why it is such a great hack to turn to machines to assist with the cleaning, and Yeedi Vac 2 Pro self-cleaning robot vacuum and mop makes it easy to do just that.

It is a cleaning tool I will definitely recommend to every parent out there—the Yeedi Vac 2 pro. The company sent it to me a couple of weeks ago, and I am absolutely impressed with its capabilities.

The BEST Cleaning Tips for Busy Moms

The Yeedi Vac 2 Pro uses advanced robotic vacuum technology to make cleaning much easier for you.

At first glance, the Yeedi Vac 2 pro does appear a bit too small. But its capabilities far outmatch its size. I describe it to be a small powerhouse.

It cleans the floor using a vacuum-cleaning-type mechanism. It cleans the floor, moping out every particle so that the floor is shiny and dust-free.

Unlike many machines like it, the Yeedi Vac pro takes its time. When switched on, it first scans the room it is to clean. Then it begins. It is sure to take its time.

It goes around the house, cleaning, and cleaning. And when it has cleaned completely, it returns to its charging spot and charges itself fully.

Oh, and I would love to add that the Yeedi Vac 2 Pro uses laser sensors to avoid obstacles automatically. The robot also identifies your carpet.

The battery life was great during my tests. The robot can be controlled with a mobile device, can be connected to a Wifi-router, and be tracked as it cleans the floors.

Pros: Easy to use, easy to clean.

Cons: Mopping pad wears out fast

2. Don’t Wait Till the Morning

A lot of working parents wait till morning before they do the necessary cleaning. While this seems like an effective approach, it can slow you down and maybe even discourage you.

Because by morning, most of the work to be done is compounded. For example, if you have to wait until morning to clean your room rather than just do a little tidying, you may be discouraged at how untidy the room will look the next morning.

The best busy parents cleaning hack is:

  1. Don’t wait.
  2. Cut your work into smaller chunks over the course of the day.
  3. Do the dishes as soon as you are done eating.
  4. Take out the trash when there is a need to.

3. Involve the Kids

If you are a busy parent and can’t cope with all the work at home, it might be helpful to involve the kids sometimes.

If they are grown up enough to do certain tasks, then assigning roles will prove quite effective. But be sure to make their work enjoyable, and don’t let it get in the way of their school.

You can say: “Hey, you will do the dishes tomorrow.” This approach is helpful to both the parent and the child, as it can breed in the child a sense of responsibility.

If you aren’t fine with assigning roles to your children, simply telling them to be tidy can help. You can say: “Hey, I don’t want you littering the house with your snack pieces.”

Tell them they have to put every waste in the trash, and they will stick to it.

Every parent knows that when it comes to littering the house, children do it best. And boy! Can it be annoying? Don’t let them liter. Do not also let your spouse litter.

4. Don’t Procrastinate

Beginning cleaning can be quite hard sometimes, especially during the weekend when the work is pilled up. Then, you may be tempted to enter into a web of procrastination. But that is the last thing you want to do.

If you have issues with procrastination, you should have already noticed that you almost never clean. These should help you deal with your procrastination problems:

—Use the two-minute rule: the two-minute rule is simple: if the task can be done in two minutes, then there is really no use procrastinating. Get right into doing it.

—Start with the Hardest Task: a great way to defeat procrastination that comes with cleaning is to start with the hardest task. Obviously, the hardest task is your biggest hurdle, and when you bring yourself to move past it, half the work is done. You now have the strength to go on with other tasks.

—Keep the cell phone down: when it is time to clean, the cell phone should stay down, as it can distract you and make your “motivation” run low, and you need all that motivation.

Rather than use your cellphone, you can turn up some music to keep you motivated. You are more likely to keep going on when some music is motivating you.

5. Take Breaks When it Gets Hard

Yes, this may seem like bad advice, as you may be eagerly hoping to complete the task. But the truth remains that taking breaks is a great cleaning hack for parents, especially if there is a lot of work to do.

As long as you don’t lose motivation, taking a break when you are tired can even make you more productive by the time the break is over. Just be sure to stay hydrated.

Then start over.

Bonus: A cleaning hack some parents, especially those with a higher budget, can pull through is hiring someone to do the cleaning for them. While it is not so cost-efficient, it is effective and helps with time management.

Cleaning agencies use a lot of helpful machines. And my best guess is that many agencies in Europe may also use the Yeedi Vac 2 Pro.

Summary

Cleaning can be difficult work sometimes. But a lot changes when you know how to do it right. Be sure to stay hydrated and motivated. And, of course, turn to equipment to help you sometimes.
